Renesas Electronics America, Social Distancing Band HD 271, also known as their model SDB 1.0. This SDB by Renesas does a great job offering visual displays of distance between individuals. By displaying different colors on the watch face, the user is able to constantly judge their exposure to other users.
Setting Up Your Social Distance Band
Switch on the device. There is a 3 position switch, 0 Power down the device, 1 Power up the device, 2 Power up the device along with Bluetooth.
Understanding The LED Lights
There are two Bicolor LEDs on this social distancing band device. One Horizontally aligned (Green and Yellow) and the other vertical (Blue and Red). On Power-up, the Green LED glows for a second and then switches off indicating successful power on and if the Bluetooth is ON, BLUE LED also glows. If the charger is connected over USB, then charging is indicated by yellow LED. If the distance is violated the RED LED blinks.
Measuring Distance
Once the SDB device turned ON, device starts measuring the distance between near by SDB devices. If the social distance is violated by the two SDB devices then device provides haptic feedback using on board vibration motor along with a RED LED blink indication.
Steps to Connect Social Distance Band to the Android Application
Social Distancing Band
- Turn ON the device along with Bluetooth by making slide switch at 2 positions. The Blue LED in a device indicates Bluetooth is turned On.
- Lunch the SDB Android App.
- Once the SDB App was lunched, The app opens up with no devices connected. Click the Bluetooth Pairing button as shown.
The App starts Scanning Bluetooth devices.
- The App show the available SDB devices that can be connected.
- Click on the device which u needs to be connect.
A prompt will popup asking paring request, click on pair and connect.
Default PIN Number is 123456
To pair the device enter the default PIN 123456 and click the OK button.
Once the SDB device paring was successful, Android App continuously displays the distance between the two devices and also the percentage of battery.
Setting Distance Threshold Parameter
User can set the distance threshold parameter in meters, user can choose the name of the device and also turn vibration motor ON or OFF for letting user know the violation. After setting the parameters press back button to save.
